Missions

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me...Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Matthew 25:35-36, 40

2020 Missions Fall Newsletter

We have a heart for missions at Bethel Presbyterian Church. This heart is expressed in a number of different ways:

Financial Commitment

Ten percent of all income received at Bethel goes directly to missions. We feel this is our first fruits commitment to give back to God out of what he has given to us.

Primary Missions

We focus our support on two primary mission groups. Our primary global mission is the La Croix Haiti New Testament Mission located in La Croix, Haiti. Our primary local mission is to support needy families in our area connected with nearby Joe Walker Elementary School. We feel it is important to have a clear focus in missions so that we can better help fewer groups rather than spread ourselves thin with many groups. For more information on sponsoring a child at the La Croix New Testament Mission contact the church office.

Involving Children

We encourage children from an early age to be involved in missions and mission giving. The third Sunday of every month we have a "Joyful Noise" time when children collect pocket change from the congregation for our two primary missions. Children are involved in other missions throughout the year like Operation Christmas Child.

Community Needs

At Bethel we try to give back to the community when needs arise. During the holiday season, we provide aid to families in need through food, winter clothing, and Christmas gifts. We also seek to respond to local needs as they arise in order to better care for our community.
